How FuturesPad works

The short version: pick a call or put on a US stock or ETF, and FuturesPad launches a pump.fun coin named after it. Your wallet signs one mainnet transaction. The coin is a pump.fun token, not the option itself. This page explains the options the coins are named after, how the values on the chain are calculated, and exactly what a launch does.

Calls and puts

A call pays the amount the stock finishes above the strike. A put pays the amount it finishes below the strike. If the stock finishes on the wrong side, the option expires worthless.

call payoff = max(0, settlement − strike)
put payoff = max(0, strike − settlement)

Values on FuturesPad are quoted per share: one contract here means one share of the underlying.

Strikes and expiries

Pricing, IV and Greeks

Stock prices and charts come from Twelve Data and refresh about every 20 minutes while the market is open. Option values on the chain are model estimates: Black–Scholes with zero rates, using a reference volatility per market plus a skew that makes downside strikes richer. They show roughly what the contract would be worth; they are not prices anyone is offering, and FuturesPad doesn't sell options.

Example. NVDA at $188.40, two weeks to expiry, 46% IV: the 190 call is worth about $6.03, with a delta of 0.48 and theta of −$0.24 a day. Buying it breaks even at $196.03 at expiry.

Hedging shares with puts

If you hold shares, buying puts puts a floor under them. You keep the upside; the premium is the price of the insurance.

NVDA at expiry50 NVDA50 × 180 puts (paid $305)Net vs today
$188.40 (flat)$9,420−$305−$305
$150.72 (−20%)$7,536+$1,159−$725
$120.00 (−36%)$6,000+$2,695−$725
$226.08 (+20%)$11,304−$305+$1,579

Below $180 every dollar the shares lose, the puts make back. The worst case is fixed at $725 (7.7%): the $8.40 gap down to the strike plus the premium. This is an example of how listed options work at any broker; it isn't something a FuturesPad coin does.

Launching a coin

From the option chain or from /launch, pick a stock, call or put, strike and expiry, and FuturesPad fills in the coin's name, ticker and artwork (for example NVDA $190 Call 02 Oct, ticker NVDA190C). You can edit all of it.

The coin is created on Solana mainnet in a single transaction that your wallet signs and pays for, including the initial buy. FuturesPad checks the transaction before you sign it and only reports success after Solana confirms it.

StepWhat happens
Image and metadataUploaded to IPFS
Create transactionBuilt by PumpPortal for your wallet, checked by FuturesPad
ApprovalYour wallet signs and pays: initial buy (min 0.0001 SOL), priority fee and network fees
ListingThe transaction includes a 0 SOL transfer to FuturesPad's marker address, which is how /coins finds every launch on-chain
After launchThe coin trades on pump.fun's bonding curve and moves to PumpSwap if the curve fills

The coin is a pump.fun token named after the option. It is not the option: it isn't backed by one, its price is set by pump.fun trading rather than the option's value, and it pays nothing at expiry.
